Snippets that have caught my eye this week from around the web….
This study of Amazon’s share price history illustrates just how hard it is to spot the next big thing.
And on a similar theme, how did the experts get on with their forecasts in 2016?
Some good news from The Economist! We get happier as we get older.
A couple of months ago I linked to this blog, in which the poster described why he had decided to go back to work after a year of financial independence, even though he didn’t need to for economic reasons. In this update, he’s been very honest in describing what he got wrong and it’s really good to read that he now knows that he needs a plan. I’m sure he’ll get it right next time.
Are we losing our sense of curiosity? I hope not.
And finally, for all you Excel fans out there – An Ode to the Unappreciated Spreadsheet (also for Robert, who I think would happily spend all day, every day playing working with spreadsheets).
Whatever you are up to this weekend, I hope it’s a good one.
Warm regards
Carolyn
