“We’ve been here before, and the story ended with the US administration renting vast underground caves and filling them with government cheese. A simple idea turns into a serious headache.” Governments should be wary of ‘interfering’ (sadly, they’re not 😖) [Tim Harford 3 min read]
“It is not unusual for founders of billion-dollar enterprises to get rich. What’s deeply unusual, however, is the way Neumann wrapped himself around WeWork’s business to squeeze profit from its every pore, even as he proclaimed his firm’s spirit of generosity.” The ousting of WeWork’s CEO finally draws a line under his penchant for treating the company as his personal ATM. And finally. If you are a huge fan of this painting, I’d suggest not clicking on this link, you’ll never look at it in the same way again😄. Is Munch’s The Scream Actually a Painting of a Dog? [Image]
I’ll be spending this weekend for an event next week which is absolutely at the top of my bucket list. I am beyond excited. The trip will be a real skip down memory lane as I’m also going back to see the house I was born in, which I haven’t seen in over 50 years. Following that, Robert and I are heading off to Florida at the end of the week as guests of Raymond James for the weekend, visiting their headquarters in St Petersburg. There will, therefore, be no TWSH next Friday, but I’ll be back in a fortnight.
