The Weekend Starts Here....

I got back home from my trip to the RJ Global Top 50 conference early yesterday evening. What a trip! The line up of speakers Raymond James put on for us was exceptional – Harvard professors, economics experts, historians, marketing specialists, and this guy – INCREDIBLE. I have never heard a speaker quite like him. If you ever get the chance to see him speak, grab it with both hands.

In between the conference sessions, stuffing my face with wonderful cuisine and generally enjoying the sights of Austin, I managed to do a bit of reading for you. Here we go…

If you work in any field which means you find yourself sitting in front of a client and giving them advice, I’m sure you remember that dread in the early days of being asked a question you don’t know the answer to. I tell our youngsters, “It’s fine to say you don’t know, but you can find out.” Personally, I don’t carry the pension rules round in my head (Charles does 😉), it’s too full of far more interesting stuff, but I know where to find the information should I need it. This first piece is all about being confident in saying ‘I don’t know’ and the benefits doing so can bring. [Ramp Capital 3 min read]

Whatever you’re up to this weekend I hope it’s a good one. I am on a quick turnaround for a visit to the office next week and looking forward to seeing several clients while I’m there. I’ve also made a spur of the moment, last-minute purchase  😀
